In April 2008, Governor Perry became the first Governor to seek relief from these federal mandates by requesting a waiver of 50% of the requirements for the production of ethanol produced from grain - which have had a negative impact on the Texas economy, while driving up food prices. The EPA public comment period has ended, but you can still Take Action by letting Governor Perry know that you support his efforts and thank him for his leadership. A copy of your letter will also be sent to your elected officials to let them know you support Governor Perry's petition.
